The NPD Group Inc., a Port Washington-based consumer research company, said Wednesday that it has appointed three of its executives on Long Island to head key divisions.

"This new leadership team for our fashion and toys businesses has the experience and knowledge to keep NPD on track with continued growth and innovation in our industries," Karyn Schoenbart, NPD Group president and chief operating officer, said in a news release.

Amy Hyland, a Port Washington resident, moves from leading NPD’s U.S. toys business unit to leading its U.S. fashion apparel business. Hyland has been at NPD for more than 10 years; for the last 7 years she has successfully run NPD’s toys market research business.

Replacing Hyland as president of the toys unit is, Juli Lennett, of Plainview. Most recently Lennett served as an executive director of client development for toys & KIDS (Kids Industry Data Service).

Diane Nicholson, of Port Washington, president of NPD’s beauty business unit for the past 10 years, will be taking on additional responsibility as president of the U.S. fashion footwear and accessories units. Before joining NPD Nicholson worked in the fashion footwear and accessories industries.
