Nu Horizons sales exec becomes president of global distribution

Melville-based Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. has promoted a a sales and marketing executive to president of its global distribution division, the company said Tuesday.

Smith's appointment takes effect immediately. He reports to the Nu Horizons executive chairman and interim chief executive officer Arthur Nadata.

"Kent has played a key role in driving our sales growth through the economic challenges of the previous year," Nadata said in a news release.

The company distributes active and passive electronic components.
