The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance have again extended the deadline for tax filings in the wake of superstorm Sandy.

Any tax returns or tax payments due to the state on or after Oct. 26 and before Nov. 26 will now be due on Nov. 26. The extension does not apply to the payment of property taxes. The deadline was previously extended to Nov. 14th.

The extension only applies to taxpayers who were directed affected by Sandy or relief workers helping in the recovery effort. Those with questions can visit the New York tax department's website for more information.

Last week, the IRS extended the deadline for payroll and excise taxes for businesses affected by Sandy from Oct. 31 to Feb. 1, 2013.
