A second state agency, the Parks Department, is seeking to score some holiday shopping dollars.
The agency is offering a $25 gift card for camping to anyone who books a stay on Monday for two or more days in a state campground.
Reservations must be made online at newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com. Bookings are being accepted through Labor Day 2014.
The gift card is only being offered on Monday. "This special is unique because it will allow our loyal customers to come back next time or gift the card to someone who has yet to experience all that camping in New York State has to offer," said Parks commissioner Rose Harvey.
Last week, the state Department of Environmental Conservation offered a 50-percent reduction in the subscription price for the New York State Conservationist magazine. The deal started this past Friday and runs through Monday.
