An E-2C Hawkeye assigned to the “Liberty Bells” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 115 launches from USS Kitty Hawk. Credit: U.S. Navy

Hauppauge-based Orbit International Corp. has received an order valued at more than $600,000 for panels for the E-2 Hawkeye aircraft, the company announced Friday morning.

Electronics manufacturer Orbit will make data entry panels for the Hawkeye’s mission control. Deliveries are expected from the second and fourth quarters of 2011.

The Navy describes the E-2C as "an all weather, carrier-based tactical warning/control system aircraft, providing airborne early warning and control functions for the strike group."
