Orbit International Corp., of Hauppauge, has received a  $693,000 order for electrical components -- power supplies -- used in oil and gas exploration.

The division that got the order, Orbit's power group, now has orders that are 94 percent higher than in the same quarter last year, the company said.

Orbit is traded on the Nasdaq under the symbol ORBT. It's an electronics manufacturer and software solution provider.

Orbit sold the power supply order to a subsidiary of Behlman Electronics Inc. It's the third such sale to Behlman this year for a total of $1.15 million, the company said.

“As a result of strong business activity in the oil and gas industry, we expect to continue to see additional business for our power group from this sector in the near future," Mitchell Binder, Orbit's president and chief executive officer, said.
