Hauppauge-based defense electronics maker Orbit International Corp. says one of its subsidiaries has received two new orders valued at a total of $474,000.

The news release came from Mitchell Binder, left, who took over as acting chief executive on Jan. 1 after the Orbit board declined to renew the contract of longtime chief executive Dennis Sunshine.

The Orbit subsidiary, Behlman Electronics Inc., made the two sales to the same customer.

The company did not disclose the name of the customer.

One sale is for $269,000, for a device to supply power to a shipboard-based satellite communications system. The other is for $205,000, for a device to supply power to a land-based satellite system.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the spring and should be completed by the end of the year.
