Port Washington-based Pall Corp. has been selected by Rolls-Royce to supply filtration equipment for its Trent XWB commercial aircraft engine, designed to power the Airbus A350 XWB family of extra-wide-body commercial airliners.

The Airbus A350 XWB has more than 500 announced orders from 33 global carriers, and is likely to be in service for decades to come, Pall said.

The Trent XWB engine is due to enter service in 2013, and Pall deliveries have already begun in time for the engine's certification program.

The first engine run of the Trent XWB was successfully completed in June.

The Rolls-Royce supply contract is for the life of the engine program, Pall said.
