Small businesses and manufacturers interested in getting into rail supplies can get details from a panel discussion on the topic Thursday by the Long Island Forum for Technology.
The event, which will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 18, at LIFT's offices in Bethpage, will feature representatives from the Metropolitan Transit Authority, the Small Business Administration and the Empire State Development Corp. who will give presentations about programs that small manufacturers and minority or women-owned businesses can take advantage of, and answer questions from attendees.
There will also be a panel with certified public accountants to offer tips on surety bonds, which small businesses may need to obtain in order to go after public contracts.
Those interested may register at www.lift.org/calendarmeetings.php.
