Bellport Village has approved a multi-million dollar contract to have Middle Island-based Parkland Golf Management Inc. maintain its golf course.
The 5-year, $4.3 million contract allows the management company to maintain the course, catering hall, tennis courts and men and women’s locker rooms at the Bellport Country Golf Club starting in 2016.
The authorization was approved at Monday’s board of trustee meeting.
The 18-hole course will be mowed seven times a week during the main growing season, village officials said.
Bellport originally hired Parkland this past year and were impressed with how the grounds were maintained, village officials.
“We were very satisfied with them and so now we’re doing a five-year contract,” Mayor Ray Fell said after the meeting.
