BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Dawn Strain has been appointed chairwoman of the advisory board of the Long Island chapter of Best Buddies, an organization that provides programs and services to the disabled in schools and facilities. She is founder and president of DJS Events in Bethpage and lives in Bayside.

E. Christopher Murray has been named president of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Murray is an attorney at the Uniondale firm of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek and lives in Stony Brook.

Michael Finland has joined the board of directors at the Long Island Crisis Center. The Lake Grove resident is the civilian manager at the Suffolk County Police Department.

Ed Donnelly has been appointed business valuation committee chairman by the New York State Society of CPAs. The Islip resident has his own accounting practice specializing in forensic accounting.

Debbi Honorof has joined the board of directors of the Huntington Arts Council. She is director of marketing and communications for Hofstra University Continuing Education and lives in Port Washington.

Sandy Johnson has been elected president of the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women. The Merrick resident has her own accounting firm.

COMMUNICATIONS
Christine Abbott has joined MS&L Group in Manhattan as senior vice president. The North Bellmore resident was vice president at Marina Maher Communications in Manhattan.

FINANCE
Elizabeth Sigona has joined TD Bank as manager of its new Northport store. She was a branch manager at Bank of Smithtown, and lives in Greenlawn.

HEALTH CARE
Dr. Jacqueline Moline has been appointed chairwoman and vice president of the newly created department of population health at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Great Neck. The Manhattan resident was vice chairwoman at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, associate professor in the department of preventive medicine and associate professor of internal medicine.

LAW
Steven Wallach has joined the Garden City firm of Scully, Scott, Murphy & Presser as partner. The Manhattan resident was a partner at the Philadelphia firm of Dilworth Paxson.

Edward Nitkewicz has joined the Mineola firm of Sanders, Sanders, Block, Woycik, Viener & Grossman as senior counsel. The Melville resident was managing partner of Nitkewicz & McMahon in Commack.

Diana Ferranti has joined the Melville elder law and estate planning firm of Genser Dubow Genser & Cona as an associate. The Farmingdale resident worked for the law offices of Ira K. Miller in Brooklyn.
