Pharmaceutical company honoree at Heart Ball

Mary Jane Helenek of Glen Head has been named the honoree of the American Heart Association’s 48th annual Heart Ball, to be held next month, based on her efforts “raising support and creating awareness about heart disease as it pertains to Long Island.”

Helenek is president and chief executive of Shirley-based Luitpold Pharmaceuticals and is a member of North Shore University Hospital’s Corporate Businesswoman for Heart Health Program and Cold Spring Harbor DNA Learning Center’s Corporate Advisory Board.

She has also served as a clinical pharmacist at Syosset Community Hospital.
