Plumbers' union seeking 20 apprentices
The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Plumbers of Local 200 will begin taking applications Wednesday for 20 plumber apprenticeships, officials said.
Applications can be obtained at the Local 200 office, 375 Central Ave. in Bohemia, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, excluding legal holidays. The form must be filled out in person and submitted by May 27.
Applicants should be 18 years or older, live on Long Island, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, have a driver's license and reliable transportation, submit to a drug test and purchase instruction materials costing an average of $225 per year.
