Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 20, 2015
Voting for the 2015 My LA2050 Grants Challenge begins today at 12pm noon Pacific Time. Angelenos and supporters of LA-based organizations are invited to cast their vote at http://www.la2050.org/challenge for their favorite ideas to create a more positive future for the Los Angeles region. On December 8th, LA2050 will announce ten winning submissions that will receive $100,000 to implement their ideas for a better LA.
LA2050 believes in the power of Angelenos to shape the future of their region. Now in its third year, the My LA2050 Grants Challenge has attracted the participation of more than 100,000 voters. This year’s voters will have the opportunity to express their support for more than 300 submissions across five goal categories to make LA the best place to learn, create, play, connect, and live. In addition to voting, supporters can share their enthusiasm for the future of Los Angeles in the comments section of the project pages and on social media using #MyLA2050.
Since 2013, LA2050 has awarded more than $2 million in grants to projects to build a better LA. Over two years, more than 500 proposals have been submitted through the My LA2050 Grants Challenge. The initiative has also received support from partner organizations. This year, the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Foundation and the Annenberg Foundation will provide a total of $600,000 in additional grant awards to submitters in the My LA2050 Grants Challenge.
Visit http://www.la2050.org/challenge through November 3rd at 12pm noon Pacific Time to cast a vote in each of the five categories. Of the top ten voted projects in each goal, LA2050 will choose one project to receive $100,000 to implement their idea. An additional project in each goal category will also be chosen by a jury to receive an $100,000 award.
