The Union of Jewish Universalist Rabbis is proud of its two Deborahs, who like their Biblical ancestor Deborah, bring knowledge and wisdom to the Jews of today.

WASHINGTON (PRWEB) May 17, 2018

Deborah was a prophet of the Israelites in the Bible (Judges: Chapters 4 & 5) and the only female judge mentioned there. Quite the ancient feminist and power broker. The Union of Jewish Universalist Communities is proud of its two Rabbi Deborahs, both of whom live in the vibrant communities that surround the Nation's Capitol. They too, bring knowledge, resources and a unique perspective to the modern Jewish world.

Rabbi Deborah Reichmannn, also trained as an attorney, is the go to Rabbi for Jewish and interfaith weddings in the DC metropolitan area. She has provided content and opinion pieces to the local press helping define what UJUC represents to the world and the philosophy and resources that this new Jewish movement provides.

Rabbi Deborah McKenzie has a full time job as a scientist, another brilliant mind serving the nation and her community, and as a Rabbi leads Ma'ariv services weekly for Sim Shalom, a founding synagogue of UJUC as well as broadcasting weekly, Jewish How To Tuesdays live on the Sim Shalom Facebook page as part of Jewish Universalist TV. (JUtv) weekly offerings.

Rabbi Steven Blane, a founder of the UJUC and Founder and Dean of Jewish Spiritual Leaders' Institute (JSLI) where Reichmann and McKenzie received Semicha, notes that, "Today's Judaism is evolving and Jewish Universalism is a movement that is inclusive and welcoming to all Jews and their interfaith partners."
