ArtPrize Entry Inspired By Stained Glass Windows in Christ Chapel

Renowned Danish Artist, Peter Brandes, has entered a spectacular piece of four separate windows in ArtPrize, inspired by his recent work of four 27-foot stained glass windows at Cornerstone University.

Cornerstone University is proud to announce one of the entries in ArtPrize this year was created by world-renowned Dutch artist, Peter Brandes, who was commissioned to make the four stunning, 27-foot stained glass windows in the newly opened Christ Chapel.

The entry, in the world?s largest art competition held annually in Grand Rapids, is located in the lobby of the JW Marriott downtown.

Thousands of visitors to the annual event, ArtPrize, will vote on more than 1,200 entries from 48 countries. The top 10 winners receive cash prizes totaling $560,000.

Brandes entry titled ?Four Windows? is the first piece he has submitted in ArtPrize.

To vote for the ?Four Windows,? enter the code ? 62101 through an ArtPrize mobile app or on the website, http://www.artprize.org.

The ArtPrize entry is of four smaller stained glass windows that were taken from some early sketches that inspired the finished Christ Chapel windows.

The public is encouraged to visit Christ Chapel at Cornerstone University to see the 27-foot windows they were formed after.

Christ Chapel will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 p. m. to 6 p.m. on weekends during the duration of ArtPrize, Sept. 23 through Oct. 11.

A documentary will be shown daily at 4 p.m. in the chapel called ?Sacred Light? that walks you through the journey Brandes took to achieve the spectacular windows.
