Cumberland Academy of Georgia welcomed Frito-Lay/Atlanta West Zone employees to the school. Employees from Frito-Lay gave a day of service to assist the school.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 26, 2013

Cumberland Academy of Georgia, Atlanta’s premier school for special needs students, welcomed Frito-Lay/Atlanta West Zone to the academy. Since Cumberland purchased the school building in May 2013, the academy has been renovating to accommodate continued growth in number of students. Understanding the continual need for upgrade in a school setting, Frito-Lay generously donated time and resources toward a day of service at the school. Employees from the West Zone division of Frito-Lay worked at Cumberland to upgrade older building materials as well as planted and added mulch in the front of the school for aesthetic purposes. Cumberland welcomed the employees with student led greetings and invited Frito-Lay employees to dine with students during lunch.

“Frito-Lay has been wonderful to encourage employees to give their time to Cumberland,” said Debbi Scarborough, Founding Director of Cumberland Academy of Georgia. “Cumberland students loved having our Frito-Lay partners in the school for many reasons. Most of all, we appreciate the commitment Frito-Lay has to the continued growth and development of the educational program at Cumberland.” Frito-Lay West Zone ended the day with gratitude and smiles from all the students.
