“Till the time is right, your secret is safe with us!” says Afshin Tajian, the Los Angeles based founder of the company who holds a Master’s Degree in electrical engineering from the New York University. “The idea came to me when I realized that traditional match and dating websites and apps are all doing the same thing, which is introducing some strangers to each other… what if your best match is someone you already know and like?” adds Afshin. “I’ve been involved with a number of organizations for the youth and singles. I know them very well, and their tendency at times to keep certain feelings secret, without sharing or acting on them. This is where Rapt comes into play”.

The user can mark someone by having a phone number or email address from her or him. So, no more need for secret crush quiz, guesswork, or making a rumor and hoping it turns to reality!

The user can mark up to two contacts for free, credits can be purchased inside the app to make additional marks. The user can also invite others from the phone’s contact list to download the app. “Inviting someone to download the app might soon replace the traditional asking out!”, Afshin says, “when you invite someone to download the app, they’d know what it means… that you’re going to mark them on the app and you’d really like them to mark you too!”

Rapt was recently released in the US and a few other countries, and received instant good reviews from users and review websites. The title of the app on the iTunes App Store is ‘Rapt Secret Crush’, and on the Google Play is ‘RAPT: does my secret crush love me back?!’.
