In this webinar, which LabRoots will host June 29, attendees will gain a better understanding of the utilization of bioinformatic tools for interpreting results.

(PRWEB) May 16, 2018

Measurement of metabolites represents the digital readout of health. A critical aspect of metabolomics is the utilization of high resolution mass spectrometric approaches to detect and identify metabolites from biological fluids and tissues.

The use of multi-analyte analyses, as well as high resolution mass spectrometric approaches, has the potential to transform clinical diagnostics for the next generation. This presentation will discuss profiling and quantitative metabolomics techniques such as traditional LC-MS based approaches and new methods that utilize direction analysis approaches.

Through this webinar, which is sponsored by Agilent, participants will learn from a demonstration of the use of multianalyte metabolomic panels in clinical research. The application of high-resolution mass spectrometry approaches to metabolomics will also be discussed.

The speaker for this event will be Dr. Timothy J Garrett, an associate professor at the University of Florida.

Garrett received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia in chemistry, before earning his doctorate from the University of Florida. As a graduate student, he developed the first imaging mass spectrometry-based on ion trap instrumentation and studied the disposition of phospholipids in brain tissue. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Pathology, where he is also the Director of high throughput metabolomics, for the Southeast Center for Integrated Metabolomics and conducts research in the application of metabolomics to disease diagnosis and clinical diagnostics.

LabRoots will host this webinar June 29, 2018, beginning at 8:00 a.m. PDT, 11:00 a.m. EDT. To learn more about this event, the continuing education credits offered, or to register for free, click here.
