Post-secondary scholarship application window will remain open through Monday, April 30

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (PRWEB) April 24, 2018

Introduced in 2016, the Foundation for Blended and Online Learning's (FBOL) annual scholarship award program remains central to its mission to increase access to, and awareness of, innovative practice and policy transforming America's classrooms and schools. One of three core grant-making areas, FBOL's scholarship awards celebrate graduating high school students who have taken a number of online or blended courses and are matriculating to a two-year, four-year, or vocational college.

A testament to the growing availability of blended and online learning opportunities, the program's 2018 applicant pool already includes students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and overseas military families.

Amy Valentine, FBOL's executive director, said, "In the past year alone, the number of scholarship applicants benefiting from online and blended learning programs has more than doubled. Sharing their stories and supporting their continued success is greater than our founding mission, it is a tremendous privilege."

Each year, FBOL provides post-secondary support to 30 students without restricting the type of accredited high school attended or higher education destination. From remote communities on the Alaskan shoreline to the country's largest urban school districts, the range of U.S. high schools providing online and blended learning opportunities is represented by traditional public, public charter, private, and parochial institutions.

Over the past two years, FBOL has provided more than three-quarters of a million dollars to support the post-secondary journey of pioneering students from 26 states. While each of their stories is unique, a theme common to all is the profound impact technology-enabled learning environments -- and mindsets -- have had on the lives and futures of children and families throughout the United States.

FBOL's 2018 Student Scholar Award application window is open through 11:59 pm Eastern on Monday, April 30. For more information about the foundation, or to access the scholarship application portal, please visit our website at https://www.blendedandonlinelearning.org.
