U.S. News & World Report Best Lawyers recently recognized the firm of Foley & Foley in the “Best Law Firms” of 2014.

Foley & Foley were named as a “Tier 1” firm in the area of personal injury litigation, and a “Tier 2” firm in medical malpractice law in the Rochester Metropolitan Area. Clients are asked to provide feedback on firm practice groups, using a scale of one (the weakest) to five, addressing expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether or not they would refer someone else. Lawyers also voted on expertise, responsiveness, integrity, cost-effectiveness, whether they would refer someone, and whether or not they consider a firm a worthy competitor. Once all the data was compiled, it was compared to other firms within the same metropolitan area and nationally. Because firms are so often separated by small differences in score, U.S. News uses a tiering system rather than ranking the firms sequentially. The first tier in each metropolitan area includes firms that scored within a certain percentage of the highest-scoring firm, the second tier, those firms that scored within a certain percentage of the next highest scoring firm, and so on.
