Franklin County Visitors Bureau Recommends Renfrew Institute's Fun Fly To Celebrate National Kite Month
Franklin County Visitors Bureau recommends celebrating National Kite Month at Renfrew Institute's Fun Fly on April 14
WAYNESBORO, Pa. (PRWEB) March 31, 2018
Brothers George and Sam Adams of Chambersburg return for their seventh year as “kite masters” and will offer free individual instruction and demonstrations of kite flying techniques.
In addition, they will lead a kite-making workshop from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. “We hope kids and adults stop by and build their own kite. It is fun to do, and these small handmade kites really fly well,” Adams said. There is a $1 donation to cover materials.
The Adams brothers have many years of experience with kites. “Like most kids, we flew kites in the spring, and we have continued to enjoy it as adults,” Sam said.
George’s interest in kites includes building models and working kites based on early precursors to aircraft, such as the Wright Brothers’ early gliders. Using historic photos or vintage plans, he constructs large models.
Parking is available behind the visitors center, with additional parking in the lower lot off Welty Road. For more information, please call the institute at 717-762-0373 or visit http://www.renfrewinstitute.org.
