While whole-house security systems are effective in deterring crime, there may be an easier and less expensive alternative to avoid break-ins. An inventor from Pomona, Calif., has found a way to keep would be thieves from breaching a roll-up garage door to gain entry.
He developed a prototype for the patent-pending GARAGE POWER LOCK to restrict access to a garage to authorized persons only. As such, it prevents an attempt to circumvent the garage door safety release. As a result, it protects homeowners against theft, injury or death from a home invasion. It, therefore, affords peace of mind for concerned homeowners. Furthermore, it reduces the number of insurance claims filed and helps keep premium rates lower. In addition it is convenient, easy to install and operate and affordably priced.
The inventor’s personal observation inspired the idea. “I was motivated to pursue this idea after I watched a robbery in progress as an intruder broke into a home through the roll-up style garage door,” he said. “I wanted to prevent such trespassing on private property.”
The original design was submitted to the Los Angeles office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
