ANNAPOLIS, Md. (PRWEB) May 08, 2018

Ginger Cove, a waterfront life-plan community located in Annapolis, Maryland, announced today that it has been awarded the Five Star Rating—the highest—afforded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

“Ginger Cove’s achievement of the 5-Star Rating by CMS recognizes the skill, dedication and compassion of our talented staff,” said Phyllis Boulden, Administrator of Ginger Cove. “Providing residents exceptional care has been our culture for 30 years, and this achievement recognizes the 'above and beyond' we do each and every day. We couldn’t be prouder of this exceptional recognition.”

The Annapolis area’s only CARF-accredited retirement community (Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, an international organization), Ginger Cove offers a continuum of care for its residents to include independent living, assisted living, and short and long term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care. The Five-Star CMS achievement refers to the quality of care provided in Ginger Cove’s skilled nursing facility.

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare skilled nursing facilities more easily. Organizations are assigned an overall star rating between one and five stars by CMS, based on specific ratings based on Health Inspections, Staffing levels, and Quality Measures. Ginger Cove’s rating of 5 stars indicates that it offers the highest level of care, “much above average quality and nursing.”
