Many of Seattle’s best and brightest in the area’s manufacturing industry convened at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington this past May 3rd for the Seattle Business Magazine Manufacturing Awards. Included in the award recipients was Global Fiberglass Solutions, a global corporation headquartered in Bothell, Washington. GFS won a Gold award for Innovation – Small Firms. It is safe to say that GFS’ proprietary process for recycling industrial composite fiberglass is a valuable innovation indeed.

GFS’ CTO Karl Englund and Senior Project Manager Tatiana Golik were two of the GFS corporate employees attending the awards event. Dr. Englund gave the award acceptance remarks and states, “Being in a room with like-minded Seattle manufacturing entrepreneurs [concerned with sustainability] was refreshing and exciting. We appreciate Seattle Business Magazine’s recognition of manufacturers.” Along with Ms. Golik, GFS Business Development Manager Brent Sherry joined the group and from his frequent Seattle area networking efforts recognized support from CAMPS (Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound) and Parker, Smith & Feek.

In accepting the Gold Innovation award, Global Fiberglass Solutions recognized the support which surrounds the company. Not only did Seattle Business Magazine highlight the great work of Seattle’s manufacturers, but the event was a showcase of a thriving business and innovation hub. Finally, GFS relayed that it is its dedicated employees, their collaboration and their hard work that brings such success and growth to a brand-new business idea.
