MISSION VIEJO, California (PRWEB) October 21, 2015

Lion’s Heart, a nationwide volunteer platform for 6th – 12th grade students, reports a record-setting 41-percent increase in Membership following the close of its 2015 enrollment period. With nearly 1,400 new Members, the organization now has 2,888 teens enrolled in 237 groups across 47 states across the country. Lion’s Heart helps teens develop meaningful life skills through leadership opportunities and philanthropic experiences.

“What started as a locally-based organization has grown into a significant nation-wide presence,” said Terry Corwin, Executive Director and Founder of Lion’s Heart. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to expand the reach of this organization and continue to provide teens with the resources to serve the community in ways that are meaningful to them.”

Lion’s Heart organizes Members into groups so they can volunteer for various non-profit and philanthropic organizations in their communities. Each group of teen Members elect their own officers and runs their own meetings. With this structure, Members have the power to choose how they want to serve their communities. Additionally, Lion’s Heart Members do not participate in fundraising. This ensures that all time and energy are spent serving the community.

About Lion’s Heart

Founded in 2004, Lion's Heart is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit teen volunteer platform available to 6th – 12th grade students. The organization instills the value of community service in its Members, providing meaningful life skills through leadership opportunities and philanthropic experiences. Over the years, Members have performed a combined total of more than 450,000 volunteer hours, which equates to more than $9,000,000 in societal value.

Lion’s Heart, which is headquartered in Southern California, has grown to more than 47 chapters across 10 states, and is actively expanding its reach by adding new chapters across the country. Groups have between three and twenty teens and are organized by gender, grade, and location. Though each group has a parent Class Coordinator, the teens elect their own officers, lead their own meetings, and decide how to serve their community – with no fundraising.
