Science is crucial to our health, planetary stewardship, and understanding our world. March for Science celebrates the vital role science plays in health, safety, economy, government, and our everyday lives.

The march includes an inspiring array of community partners including the Center for Biological Diversity, Lawrence Hall of Science, American Geophysical Union 100, COOL Effect, Taste of Science SF, the CLEAR Project from UC Berkeley, TeenTechSF, Taste of Science, SACNAS and more.

Activities include keynote speakers Jonathan Foley (Director, Cal Academy of Sciences), Shaye Wolf (Center for Biological Diversity), Vien Truong (CEO, The Dream Corps), Kevin Keys (UCSF Postdoc in bioinformatics & genomics) & Smauel Getachew (Organizer, March for our Lives), panel discussions, food trucks, science-themed bands, and the Science Outreach Fair. The post-rally optional March will trace the lake path.

“I march to ensure that the US scientific workforce looks like the US populus, and that the US scientific infrastructure ensures equity and access for all.” - Kevin Keys

“I march for my children’s future. We live in Oakland which is one of the most polluted cities in the state. I march to hold our politicians accountable to science-backed clean energy solutions that create a green economy for all -- including communities like mine and countless others across the country." - Vien Truong

The interactive Science Outreach Fair allows curious people of all ages to engage, create, discover, connect with science, and make your views known to elected officials! Activities include a science-themed photo booth, letter-writing, hands-on activities & maker booths, and mini-presentations.
