Petroleum transport company, Medco, curbs fuel pilferage with Noke’s access control solution, which offers customizable key management and audit trails.

LEHI, Utah (PRWEB) April 24, 2018

Medco, Mediterranean oil shipping and transport company serving Lebanon and the Near East since 1910, has begun using the Noke hardware and software system to secure its large fleet of petroleum product delivery tank trucks and drastically reduce the occurrence of fuel pilferage.

Noke’s line of keyless smart locks are unlocked via Bluetooth using smartphones, tablets, or fobs, allowing managers to control and monitor all usage with Noke’s API. By incorporating Noke security to its transport methods, Medco has been able to significantly reduce theft and product tampering to provide greater quality assurance, giving the company a new competitive advantage.

“The performance of these Noke Padlocks has been excellent,” said Maroun Chammas, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Medco. “We are satisfied with the performance and robustness of the Noke Padlocks and we intend to continue expanding the deployment of the Noke Padlocks to more petroleum product delivery trucks in the future.”

Some of the key benefits, in addition to theft reduction, derived by Medco from the usage of Noke are:

  •     Lower security cost, as Medco no longer relies on the use of disposable seals
  •     Ability to detect real-time lock transactions
  •     Track location of locks on tank trucks
  •     Issue keys remotely
  •     View audit trail for lock and user interactions
  •     Simplify operations without requirement of technical skills

“It’s great seeing the various ways our technology can be applied to transform businesses in unique industries,” said Cameron Gibbs, Co-Founder and COO of Noke. “Eliminating fuel pilferage is just one of many benefits our customers can experience from having a connected security solution in place, and we are looking forward to seeing other unique applications present themselves as more companies go keyless.”
