Tom Robinson, associate director of Home Life in Milton Hershey School’s® Elementary Division, has been appointed to join the Coalition for Residential Education’s Board of Directors.

“It is humbling to represent Milton Hershey School on CORE’s Board of Directors, and I am looking forward to contributing to CORE’s mission of strengthening residential education programs throughout the nation,” said Robinson. “This is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices, while advocating for the students we serve.”

Robinson has been employed in Home Life at MHS since 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in criminal justice from West Chester University. He joins Annette Cole-Gill, head of Elementary Division and chair emeritus of the CORE board, as a representative from Milton Hershey School on the board.

“We are very proud to have two of our school’s professionals helping to lead the national conversation on the benefits of residential education,” said MHS President Peter G. Gurt ’85. “As a graduate of Milton Hershey School’s top-notch residential education program, I am an advocate for and an example of how learning in a residential setting leads to a lifetime of success. MHS is honored to work with CORE to help spread the message that residential education can help children achieve beyond expectation.”

As a member of CORE’s Board of Directors, Robinson will help to lead the organization in its support of and activism for residential education. CORE’s membership includes nearly 30 residential schools throughout the United States.
