Noria Technologies Changes Brand Name to Kapsul

Noria Technologies, DBA Noria, has changed its legal name to Premium Home Comfort Inc., and now conducts business under the brand name of KapsulTM.

Noria Technologies, DBA Noria, has changed its legal name to Premium Home Comfort Inc., and now conducts business under the brand name of KapsulTM.

Kurt Swanson, founder and CEO of Noria Technologies, says that the name change was a long time coming. “We knew we had to change the name for some time now, due to a cease-and-desist letter from a trademark owner to stop using our name Noria. Although we felt strongly that our name was unique and distinct from that of the complainant, we had to comply with the cease and desist to avoid a costly legal battle. In classic startup fashion, we decided to take the lemons we were handed and make lemonade. We think Kapsul is a truly great brand name for us that will stand the test of time.”

Swanson went on to state the company’s commitment to their achievements under their old name. “Noria was a great start for us and I’m very proud of the what we achieved under that brand. We launched one of the top-10 hardware crowdfunding campaigns in history with a product design for our W5 window air conditioner that’s been universally lauded. We have 8,000 units pre-ordered and 6,000 backers eager to get our design in their hands and we’re going to make sure that happens — it’s just going to be under the name Kapsul”, he added.

KapsulTM will be maintaining web and social media accounts under the name kapsulair. A new website, http://www.kapsulair.com/ as well as social media handles for Twitter (@kapsulair) and Instagram and Pinterest (kapsulair) have been established.

Kapsul is being launched as a premium home comfort brand and will manufacture a range of products across the cooling, heating, and air treatment verticles. Soon to arrive at market are the W5, 5,000 BTU connected window air conditioner, a larger 8,000 BTU version, and 50 and 70-pint dehumidifier / humidifiers. Also on Kapsul’s development roadmap are portable and split air conditioners and room heaters. All Kapsul products are connected to web services and compatible with popular smart home ecosystems like Works with Nest, Alexa, and Google Home.
