Northbound’s Chief Clinical Officer and President/COO will be presenting at the 2016 NAATP Conference detailing the importance of developing more effective treatment staff.

Newport Beach, Calif. (PRWEB) May 12, 2016

Professional development and growth are essential parts of promoting more effective treatment for addiction. Northbound is proud to be taking part in the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers’ (NAATP) 2016 Annual National Leadership Conference from May 15-17. Chief Clinical Officer Ilana Zivkovich, LCSW, LCDC, CDWF, and President/COO Paul Alexander, JD, CATC, will be presenting on “The Courageous Culture,” discussing how to build and maintain a healthy and productive organizational culture.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to present at NAATP on this vital topic. Our organization is founded on the conviction that in order to help others heal, we ourselves must practice the habits to remain psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually fit, and systematically bring that enhanced emotional intelligence and fitness to life within our overall organizational structure,” Zivkovich said. “We have developed processes and techniques that ensure our culture remains of primary importance and focus, and look forward to sharing with others in our industry our experience, strength, and hope in this area.”

Zivkovich and Alexander will engage participants in an interactive workshop that explores trust, vulnerability, healthy conflict and accountability in working with clients, colleagues and the industry as a whole. Developing an effective treatment staff that interacts in an authentic, accountable and empowered manner provides positive benefits for clients engaged in the recovery process, and the staff committed to assisting them.

The presentation will draw from research by Dr. Brené Brown on positive psychology, as well as practical and creative applications of “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” by Patrick Lencioni, and process teachings from HPMS (High Performance Management Systems). The presentation will delve into how social relationships relate to professional satisfaction and success, and how to support an organization in thriving in a healthier, more effective way.

In order to maximize the positive impacts of a healthy culture, participants will learn how to foster structural and interpersonal changes at both team and organizational levels. There are many moving parts and people involved in addiction recovery, and it is important that culture is addressed at all levels and everyone is working toward achieving the same vision and goals.

“We’re excited to share findings of Northbound’s evolution over the years from a typical organization with a good culture, to a provider that achieves a thriving and dynamic culture promoting healthy staff and improved client outcomes as a direct result,” Alexander said. “Our hope is other providers will embrace this work and implement positive changes on their own home front.”

The NAATP Annual Leadership Conference attracts between 400 and 500 participants each year and features speakers who are leaders and experts within the industry. Northbound is proud to have Zivkovich and Alexander invited to present and to share their knowledge and insights with other providers. The conference provides a wonderful opportunity for addiction treatment providers to enrich their understanding and approach to driving recovery and cultivating a more effective culture.

The conference will be held May 15-17 at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Zivkovich and Alexander will be speaking at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17.
