First cooktop that talks to its pot, achieving various precision cooking techniques with only one appliance, launching on Kickstarter fall 2015

San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) October 26, 2015

Oliso®, the company committed to reinventing home and lifestyle appliances for the better, announced today the launch of its Kickstarter campaign for its latest product, the SmartHub™, a precision induction cooking system. Featuring the Induction SmartHub, which acts as a base, and the SmartTop™, which interacts with it, the SmartHub is the first smart cooking system that can communicate seamlessly between hub and top. The SmartHub can create consistent heat flow without any additional appliances or tools within .1 degree Celsius (.18 degrees Fahrenheit).

The SmartHub is a countertop precision cooking tool that can achieve various professional-level cooking techniques with only one appliance. With the power and efficiency of induction technology, Oliso’s SmartHub is a smart induction burner that can communicate directly with the top that is on the base. This also includes non-Oliso types like cast-iron skillets and double boilers. The premier SmartTop, offered via Kickstarter, is a low temperature pot that can cook sous vide, the method of cooking the food in airtight sealed bags and submerged under water for longer than typical cooking time over low heat. The SmartTop also has the capacity to make broths, sprout grains and cook a whole chicken.

Taking up a little more than one square foot of counter space, the SmartHub is both safe and energy efficient. The induction burner only heats what’s directly above it using only 2 watts of power to maintain temperature. The glass on the induction base heats only the surface that is touching a top, reducing the risk of burns, while the SmartTop sits securely on the base to avoid spills. The SmartTop features a double-walled bath and tempered glass lid for quality temperature control.

“This is really a reinvention of the modern cooktop,” says Oliso founder Ehsan Alipour. “Our research has taught us that consistently creating quality meals is all about temperature control. We developed a product that the home cook can use to create restaurant-quality food with only one piece of equipment. We were introduced to sous vide cooking after creating our Smart Vacuum Sealer™, and used the best induction technology available to bring professional cooking techniques into the home.“

The Kickstarter campaign officially launches on October 26, 2015 and will run for 30 days. Backers will have the opportunity to pledge for a SmartHub starting at $249 via the Kickstarter campaign. At the close of the campaign, Oliso will begin working on additional SmartTop designs, accessories and a smartphone app that will allow the user to communicate wirelessly with their SmartHub. Funds raised via Kickstarter will be directly used to fill crowdfunded orders, with the first 500 orders shipping immediately after the campaign ends, and all remaining orders to ship February 2016.
