Redondo Beach Rock'n Juice to Donate 20% of Proceeds on April 17, 2018 to Montemalaga Elementary School PTA Programs
Redondo Beach Rock'n Juice to donate portion of sales to local elementary school for sales completed on April 17, 2018.
REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (PRWEB) April 17, 2018
Rock’n Juice owner Voula Tsiboukas today announced that 20% of proceeds from sales on April 17, 2018 will be donated to the Montemalaga Elementary School PTA to support programs such art, science and garden to offset cuts in state and local funding for school special programs.
“Community is as community does,” Greek-born Voula said. “It is unthinkable that school children have to do without programs such as art, science and learning about the food cycle through growing their own fruits and vegetables. My family culture instilled the knowledge in me that healthy and fresh food is all that is needed to remain strong and energetic.”
The fundraiser was conceived by Jennifer Mentesana, affiliated with Voula’s neighbor restaurant, Locale 90, who also holds the position of Vice President, Ways & Means, Montemalaga Elementary School PTA, an avid fundraiser for the school.
Voula said that Jennifer’s enthusiasm and passion for the children she serves was infectious. The was no way she could not participate in the Montemalaga Elementary School fundraiser. The two women met and agreed to work together to promote health, wellness and expansive educational programs – and the 20% all day (7am to 7pm) fundraiser on April 17, 2018.
A selfie contest was added to incentivize more sales – hence more donation to the school – whereby fundraiser participants could post a picture of their child, themselves, friends or others -- enjoying their Rock’n Juice libation, then tag it with #RNJloveskids for a chance to win one menu item per week for the entire month of May.
Rock’n Juice’s fruit juices, smoothies, cleanses, bowls and other menu items are carefully concocted bundles of vitamins and vitality with music-industry sounding names like Groupies, Amplifier and Jammin’ – representing Voula’s love of music, nutrition, longevity and health. Voula, who grew up on an organic farm in Greece that is still owned and operated by her family said she wishes that all children could enjoy watching crops grow, harvest them and then prepare food together with their families. She moved to the South Bay in 2014 to join her restauranteur cousin Efthemios Tsiboukas. An engineer by education, Voula spent 14-years working in the pharmaceutical field all the while minding her nutrition and yoga practice.
Participants in the April 17, 2018 juice-centric fundraiser can choose from cold pressed juices, other fresh juices, smoothies, wellness shots and delicious acai bowls.
In addition to the Redondo Beach location, there are two more Rock’n Juice venues. One is located at 3730 Pacific Coast Highway, Torrance, CA 90505 and another is in San Pedro at 2470 S. Western Avenue, adjacent to the Starbucks on 25th Avenue and Western. It is part of the Eat Concept Restaurants owned and operating by her cousin Efthemios and their extended family.
