Cape Coral, FL (PRWEB) November 29, 2013

Rich Dad Education, a leader in providing financial education, is pleased to announce that they are a toy drop center for the 2013 Toys for Tots drive. The drive runs from Monday, November 25th through Monday, December 16th, 2013.

“We encourage everyone in the area to help make the holidays brighter for the kids by stopping by and dropping off a toy,” said Rich Dad Education Senior Director of Marketing Mary Jane Chappy. The company will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys at their corporate headquarters located at 1612 East Cape Coral Parkway in Cape Coral during their normal business hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Toys for Tots Program began back in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR launched the first toy drive as a local effort in Los Angeles, California. One year later, the U.S. Marine Corps adopted the program and expanded it into a nationwide community action project. That year, the now famous Toys for Tots logo was designed for the charity by the talented artists at the Walt Disney Studios. The movement became a formally organized charity with the creation of the Toys for Tots Foundation in 1992. Last year, Toys for Tots raised a record $269 million in total donations, distributing nearly 16.8 million toys to more than 7 million children.

“One of the reasons we wanted to help Toys for Tots is because over 97% of their donations goes to providing toys, books, and other gifts to less fortunate children,” explained Anthony Humpage, CEO of Rich Dad Education. “But the main reason is because we all wanted to be a part of bringing so much joy to the children of this area during the holiday season.”

Area residents who would like to request a toy for their child should visit the Toys for Tots website at http://www.toysfortots.org. Once at the site, click on the “Request a Toy for Your Child” banner and follow the instructions.
