Shiva.com, the resource for Jewish mourning, announces partnership with the Children’s Bereavement Center, providing a comprehensive approach to handling bereavement, grief, and mourning.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 20, 2015

Shiva.com, the resource for Jewish mourning, announced a partnership earlier this week with the Children’s Bereavement Center (“CBC”), which promotes healthful grief, healing and growth among children and families.

Shiva.com’s Learning Center educates, guides, and informs individuals and organizations about the traditions and customs surrounding Jewish sympathy, in particular the ritual of “shiva”, the seven-day mourning period following the loss of a family member. A comprehensive yet streamlined approach to content will now supplement the CBC’s long-term support groups and bereavement services, which help restore a sense of hope for the future to children and families who have lost a loved one. “The Children’s Bereavement Center is one of the most highly regarded bereavement centers in the country, comprised of an amazing team of professionals,” says Michael Schimmel, CEO and founder of shiva.com. “They are dedicated to their mission, to helping children and families, and to supporting our community here in South Florida.”

The Children’s Bereavement Center and shiva.com will combine their expertise and knowledge to expand both the learning and planning resources that shiva.com uses to inform and assist its audience. “The CBC will help to enhance shiva.com with extensive grief research, education and best practices provided by its three in-house grief specialists,” said Mindy Cassel, CEO and CBC Co-Founder.

This new partnership continues the expansion of shiva.com’s network of nonprofit organizations dedicated to provide the most qualified resources on Jewish mourning and sympathy.

About the Children’s Bereavement Center
Founded in 1999 by two psychologists, Dr. Carol Berns and Dr. Mindy Cassel, the CBC was created to fill a void in bereavement services for children and families. It is the only ongoing, comprehensive bereavement center providing free Peer Support Groups to grieving children and their families in South Florida. The CBC’s mission is to help children, young adults, and their families adjust to life after the loss of a loved one within a supportive community of their peers, and to promote healthful grief, healing and growth. The CBC currently holds 98 groups per month throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties and is serving over 1,300 active participants. The CBC does not engage in clinical therapy, instead utilizes a peer support group model to enhance adjustment after a death.
