Membership supports consolidation of social responsibility as a value creation process

MONTERREY, Mexico (PRWEB) May 16, 2016

Softtek, founder of the nearshore industry and leading global IT services provider dedicated to creating value through technology, today announced its incorporation to the United Nations Global Compact, an agency that has established itself as the planet's largest corporate social responsibility network.

More than 8,000 organizations worldwide comprise this important network. The membership ratifies the commitment of the company to continue its efforts in strengthening social and economic, sustainable and inclusive development, in the countries in which it has direct presence.

"Our commitment to the development of our people and society, as well as our conviction for creating and participating in initiatives that promote ethics, transparency and accountability, are pillars of our organization," said Blanca Treviño, President and CEO of Softtek.

The United Nations Global Compact upholds ten guiding principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environment and anti-corruption.

"Inclusion in the pact is one step further in Softtek’s plans for consolidating social responsibility as a process of value creation, through which we seek optimal balance between our profitability, the environment and our people," said Fernando Nava, global leader of Social Responsibility at Softtek.

Adherence to the program allows Softtek to participate in collaborative projects to achieve the objectives established by the pact. Likewise, it demands full compliance with the guiding principles. This requires a commitment to making them part of the company’s culture and everyday actions—integrating and promoting with associates, vendors and customers.
