Enhances Smooth Texture and Soft-Focus Effects

Exton, PA (PRWEB) November 26, 2013

AGC Chemicals, a leading producer of fine silica used in cosmetics and personal care products, has released studies demonstrating excellent performance of its Solesphere™ H-121 fine silica in cosmetics and personal care products, particularly oil-in-water (O/W) formulations used for skin care.

A more natural alternative to petrochemical-based microspheres, AGC’s Solesphere products impart smooth texture and soft-focus (light diffraction) properties in applications such as make-up foundations, eye shadows, blush, mascara, sunscreens and moisturizers. Solesphere silica also helps adsorb skin oils and perspiration.

In one of AGC’s studies of oil-in-water formulations, Solesphere H-121 demonstrates a 20-percent improvement in texture smoothing and a 30-percent improvement in soft-focus effects versus formulations using no microsphere additives. Additional studies show comparable or enhanced results compared to formulations using the most common petrochemical-based microspheres.
