StraighterLine and Goodwin College Partner to Provide Flexible, Low-risk Pathways to a College Degree
StraighterLine and Goodwin College announce partnership to offer more options for career-focused college students
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) May 18, 2016
StraighterLine, the fastest-growing provider of low-cost, online general education courses, has partnered with Goodwin College to provide students with an affordable pathway to their degree and, ultimately, a strong employment outcome upon graduation. Goodwin aims to understand the needs of their students, to provide flexibility and support, and to make quality education more accessible.
Of this partnership, StraighterLine Founder and CEO Burck Smith said, “We are proud to work with institutions such as Goodwin College, who is working to nurture students to help them realize their academic and professional goals.”
“At Goodwin, we focus on empowering hard-working students to become sought-after employees,” added the College’s president, Mark Scheinberg. “We surround our students with as much support as possible. This new partnership with StraighterLine is a wonderful opportunity for them — and a great example of organizations working together to increase student success.”
Goodwin College is a nonprofit institution of higher education and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
About Goodwin College
Founded in 1999, Goodwin College has a goal of serving a diverse student population with career-focused degree programs that lead to strong employment outcomes. Within its first ten years, Goodwin College garnered an impressive list of milestones, including the development of one of Connecticut’s leading nursing programs, approval to offer bachelor’s degrees, and the construction of a new campus on the Connecticut River in East Hartford. That campus, built on a remediated brownfield, is often cited as the standard for smart growth and has won a host of design and environmental awards, including Project of the Year from the Northeastern Economic Developers Association (NEDA), the leading economic development organization in the northeast.
