Katherine A. Thomas has joined anesthesia services leader PhyMed Healthcare Group, as vice president of clinical outcomes and quality.

Thomas joins the organization from naviHealth, where she was senior director of clinical quality management. It was during her tenure that naviHealth was acquired by Cardinal Health, the Fortune 500 health services company. Before joining naviHealth, she was a project manager and patient safety expert for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. The Alabama native has also served in various nursing and quality improvement roles for a range of organizations including Proxsys (now part of athenaHealth), Science Applications International, and United Healthcare. She received her nursing degree and her graduate level certification in healthcare quality and safety from UAB. In addition, Thomas is certified in Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Project Management.
