Trinity School of Medicine graduates break new ground practicing medicine in seven new states: Idaho, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Iowa, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas.

ATLANTA (PRWEB) April 27, 2018

The 2018 Residency Match saw Trinity School of Medicine graduates earning residencies across the US and Canada. This year alone, the school added seven new states to their alumni footprint: Idaho, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Iowa, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. Each of these is significant for both the success of the students involved and the spread of Trinity’s reputation for educating excellent physicians.

Massachusetts and Tennessee are particularly noteworthy, though. A Trinity School of Medicine graduate was offered an attending position in Boston. As this graduate was the school’s first in the state, it triggered a medical board approval process. As a result, the board granted a full licensure for our graduate provided recognition by the Board that Trinity's medical education is substantially equivalent to U.S. medical school training. This has now opened the door for additional graduates to serve the medical needs of the commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Similarly, a Trinity School of Medicine graduate was offered a fellowship in Tennessee and granted licensure ahead of the school’s pending 1/1/2020 California medical board approval, a list the Volunteer State traditionally follows.

Trinity president Steve Wilson commented, “Since we opened our doors ten years ago, we’ve taken every opportunity to provide greater access to a future in medicine for our students. Each year has resulted in new or upgraded accreditations and additional state approvals.” He continued, “We’re excited to see how our graduates have spread across North America and are serving their patients with professionalism, care, and continued academic distinction through chief residencies, competitive fellowships, and as always, as ‘boots on the ground’ in the effort to address the physician shortage.”
