University of San Francisco Alumna and AngelHack CEO Sabeen Ali Receives Influential Leader Award
USF Graduate Sabeen Ali joins 99 notable alumni from the top accrediting body of business schools worldwide who are making an impact in the world through their business acumen, leadership or entrepreneurial success.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 25, 2015
University of San Francisco alumna Sabeen Ali has been recognized as one of 100 influential leaders by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the global accrediting body and membership association for business schools. Ali earned an M.S. in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco School of Management in 2009.
Ali's work exemplifies the innovative mindset and meaningful contributions to society that USF graduates display around the world and every day?whether they operate within large corporations, small businesses, or the nonprofit sector.
Ali is the founder, President and CEO of San Francisco-based AngelHack, the world?s largest and most diverse global hacker community. AngelHack, a female-owned, female-majority company helps drive open innovation of tech products, platforms and brands with extraordinary smarts, scale and speed via tech education, marketing and hackathons. Prior to AngelHack, Ali founded (and then sold) her own leadership training and organizational development company, Team Building ROI. She has consulted for Kaiser Permanente, Yahoo!, Peet?s Coffee, and Cisco.
"WOW! This is an amazing honor, to be chosen as the sole representative from USF for the AACSB Influential Leaders Challenge," said Ali. "Being recognized for an innovative mindset, entrepreneurial spirit and making an impact in both business and social good communities is a great privilege, and one that I am honored to accept."
Ali joins other individuals who will be recognized by AACSB for their societal contributions such as the CEO of one of the world?s largest global relief services, a technology pioneer who is working to cure cancer, the founder of a global e-commerce powerhouse and an enterprising president attributed with reviving an international toy industry favorite. The Influential Leaders are comprised of individuals from more than 20 industry sectors ranging from consumer products to healthcare to nonprofits across 21 countries.
For the nomination process, AACSB developed a short list of open-ended questions that provided a framework for expectations for nominees. From April to June 2015, AACSB-accredited schools submitted notable alumni who have made (or are making) an impact in the world. From the nominations, a selection committee reviewed and chose stories that showed a sampling of the positive impact that business school graduates have made on society.
?It is my honor to recognize Sabeen Ali for her contributions as an Influential Leader, and to thank the University of San Francisco for its dedication to providing a business education environment based on engagement, innovation, and impact,? said Thomas R. Robinson, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International. ?If told, the success stories of all business school graduates would fill immeasurable volumes. AACSB is honored to celebrate Sabeen - and the collective 100 Influential Leaders - as a representation of how business school alumni have positively influenced society, as well as the management education industry?s, past, present, and promising future.?
