Updox, the industry leader for provider connectivity and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions for health care, today announced that MacPractice, the leading developer of medical, dental, chiropractic, and optic practice management and clinical software on the Macintosh, iPad and iPhone platforms, has expanded its partnership with Updox. MacPractice already offers its customers Updox Direct secure messaging and will now also make Updox integrated fax and document management services available to support MacPractice physicians and their practices.

MacPractice has incorporated the Updox Integrated Fax and Document Management module to offer its 15,000 doctors an integrated inbound and outbound fax solution. With Updox, MacPractice users can manage their communications, including faxes and Direct messages, route them around the office, electronically sign them, return them to the chart with one click, and fax back out as necessary.

"We're pleased to offer our customers a communications management solution for faxing that is fully integrated with MacPractice MD, MacPractice DC, MacPractice DDS, and MacPractice 20/20 and provides doctors and staff the benefits of improved efficiencies, cost savings and enhanced provider relationships," said Mark Hollis, chief executive officer, MacPractice. "The opportunity to provide a paperless solution to lower costs and free up time for patient care appeals to our customers."

Updox offers a health care-specific CRM platform that manages the many facets of patient relationships and provides physicians a unique way to coordinate communications with patients, partners and other doctors. The complete Updox platform includes Direct Secure Messaging, integrated document management, electronic faxing, patient portal, appointment reminders and patient payments, all operating within integrated workflows to support better communications.

"We're committed to helping practices work more efficiently and economically, in ways that enable doctors and staff to spend more time on patient care and less time on costly administrative work," said Michael Morgan, chief executive officer, Updox. "The Updox platform includes applications that give our partners complete flexibility to select the services that best meet their customers' needs now and future needs that develop as their practices grow."

In addition to this MacPractice partnership, Updox is integrated with more than 50 EHR vendors, representing 150,000 physicians, through the Updox Direct Network (UDN), the largest built on Direct messaging.
