Speaking session to include top findings on the rise of voice, the connected consumer and the Amazon effect

CHICAGO (PRWEB) May 31, 2018

Since 2013, the annual Future of Retail report has focused on how new developments and technology in e-commerce have changed retail and the consumer shopping experience. The 2018 study, based on a survey of 1,600 U.S. consumers, covers insights about the rise of the connected experience, the role of voice-controlled devices in consumers’ daily lives and Amazon’s influence in a new era of commerce.

IRCE attendees will receive an exclusive look at the findings and learn how technology is expected to further shift consumer preferences in the years ahead. The presentation will also include key takeaways on how brands, retailers and manufacturers can stay on the cutting-edge of the industry.

“Over the last five years, we’ve dedicated our annual Future of Retail report to uncovering how the retail experience has changed, and for the first time this year, that connection goes beyond just retail and brings together an entirely connected consumer lifestyle. Commerce is no longer about an intentional decision to go in store, or even online to buy a product. It is now about connecting with consumers on a deeper level across their everyday lives and making the purchase process easier wherever possible. Consumers today want to be able to make a purchase when and where it’s convenient to them -- whether that be in store, in their living room or via a hands-free device, ” said Erin Jordan. “It’s an honor to be able to present this year’s report at IRCE and we look forward to giving brands, retailers and manufacturers in-depth insights about the ever-shifting consumer landscape.”

Walker Sands’ annual Future of Retail report has become a go-to resource for retail reporters and thought leaders looking for insight on the evolution of the retail experience. Data from the report has been featured in national publications, including Forbes, CNBC, Business Insider, Entrepreneur and The Washington Post, and several retail trade publications, including Internet Retailer, Retail Dive, Multichannel Merchant and Retail TouchPoints.
