According to Hampden Superior Court documents for case #18-247, Zoe Rosenthal, represented by Keches Law Group, was killed while crossing a crosswalk by an alleged negligent driver

HOLYOKE, Mass. (PRWEB) May 16, 2018

The family of Zoe Rosenthal, who died on November 29, 2017, after suffering serious injuries when she was struck by a pickup truck in a crosswalk in Holyoke, has filed a wrongful death suit in the Hampden Superior Court. According to court document #18-247, the suit alleges that Charles J. Davignon, of Holyoke, was negligent in the operation of his motor vehicle and that his negligence caused Rosenthal’s injuries and death.

Zoe Rosenthal, 52, was a well-respected teacher with the Literacy Project in Holyoke. According to Holyoke police report #17-1670-AC, Rosenthal was walking her dog on the evening of November 27, 2017, not far from her home when she was struck by Davignon as he turned left while Rosenthal was in the crosswalk. She suffered a serious head injury and died two days later at Baystate Medical Center. Rosenthal leaves her two daughters, Tiffany Castillo and Chelsea Castillo, a granddaughter, her parents and a brother.

“Zoe Rosenthal’s family is devastated,” said Charlotte E. Glinka, of Milton, the family’s attorney. “They lost a treasured mother, daughter and sister. And the community lost someone who was a light in the lives of her friends, co-workers and students.”

Rosenthal was recently honored with a posthumous award as Educator of the Year by the Massachusetts Coalition for Adult Education.

Glinka said the suit seeks unspecified damages.
