World Series of Poker Main Event Runner Up, Gordon Vayo, has filed a complaint against PokerStars.com operator Rational Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. alleging pattern of fraudulent conduct intended to defraud US citizens

LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) May 08, 2018

Gordon Vayo, 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event Runner Up, has filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against PokerStars.com operator, Rational Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. Vayo's Complaint alleges that PokerStars engages in a pattern of fraudulent conduct intended to defraud US citizens of their winnings on the PokerStars.com site. According to the complaint, PokerStars allows and encourages US citizens to play on their site -- in Mr. Vayo's case, for years -- using a certified PokerStars account (based on their part-time residence outside the US) all the while displaying indifference to the player's location, while they spend their money on the site. Then, according to the complaint, if the player wins a large payout, PokerStars suddenly conducts an investigation, accusing the user of playing from within the US, in violation of PokerStars terms of service, and refusing to pay their winnings.

PokerStars bills the SCOOP tournament as the largest online poker tournament in the world, with over $65M in "guaranteed prize money". The 2018 SCOOP tournament is currently underway and started on May 6, 2018.

The case is titled: Gordon Vayo v. Rational Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. et al., Central District Case No. 2:18-CV-03706-FFM. Mr. Vayo is represented by Fayer Gipson LLP, lead counsel, Gregory Fayer.
