Kyrgyzstanis will take part in the World Kettlebell Lifting Championship for the first time, 24.kg news agency reported November 13th. The article, “Kyrgyzstanis to participate in World Kettlebell Lifting Championship,” noted that at least four athletes will represent the national Kyrgyzstan team at the competitions held on November 20th-24th in Tyumen, Russia. Shamil Yargayev, the Secretary General of the Kettlebell Lifting Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, commented, ‘Sportsmen from our country will participate in such a tournament for the first time. We are going to the World Championship at the expense of the Federation, sponsors and at our own expenses.’ (http://eng.24.kg/sports/2013/11/13/28712.html)
To celebrate the first time Kyrgyzstanis will take part in the World Kettlebell Lifting Championship, Yourwellness Magazine explored the fitness benefits of kettlebells. According to Yourwellness Magazine, ‘There are many ways to reduce your weight and improve your fitness, but using a kettlebell has got to be one of the most effective ways of all. These amazing weights can help improve your wellness and wellbeing by giving you a cardio and strength training workout all in one. That’s why kettlebells are the talk of the health and fitness circuit at the moment, as they are thought to enable you to burn up to 20 calories in just one minute of using them, and can produce some impressive toning results, too.’ (http://www.yourwellness.com/2013/10/kettlebell-help-improve-health-fitness/#sthash.M5yeYg3v.dpuf)
Yourwellness Magazine explained that a kettlebell looks like a cast iron cannon ball which has a handle on the top. This handle enables exercisers to pick it up and then perform dynamic movements, such as swings, presses and cleans, as these movements tax a great deal of the body’s musculature. Yourwellness Magazine noted that the difference between kettlebell exercises and traditional weightlifting is that kettlebell exercises work all of the major muscle groups at the same time, so the whole body receives a work out with nearly every exercise. Traditional weightlifting isolates muscle groups, whereas kettlebell exercises are far more generalised, translating into some pretty major fat burning.
