Prices go higher in region
Higher prices for clothing, housing and gasoline helped drive up inflation 2.1 percent from a year ago in the New York and northern New Jersey region, according to the federal government.

Nationwide, core inflation (that's minus food and energy), meanwhile, is up 1.1 percent from a year ago.
