Qosina Corp., an Edgewood-based distributor of disposable components for the medical device and cosmetics industries, is moving its headquarters to a new facility in Ronkonkoma as part of a $2.2 million relocation project.

Qosina, which currently operates out of two facilities totaling about 87,000 square feet in the Heartland Business Center in Edgewood, plans to consolidate operations at its facilities into a single 95,141-square-foot space at 2002 Orville Dr. North in Ronkonkoma. The space is part of a 206,000-square-foot industrial property owned by commercial developer and landlord Rechler Equity Partners of Plainview. The company plans to move into the new building in August.

Qosina was authorized for tax benefits by the Town of Islip Industrial Development Agency earlier this month, IDA executive director William Mannix said.

Founded on Long Island in 1980, Qosina supplies disposable components like tubing, clamps and connectors to the medical device industry. Its Qosmedix division sells disposable cosmetic applicators, sampling jars and makeup brushes to the cosmetics industry.

The company has about 102 employees and expects to add 10 more within two years of the site's outfitting and renovation, according to the IDA.

"They were able to bring everybody together under one roof," said Ted Trias, director of leasing and acquisitions for Rechler Equity Partners, who negotiated the deal for the landlord.
