A Queens lighting company plans to move to Port Washington, according to documents filed with Nassau County.

Jesco Lighting Group, based in Glendale, wants to buy 15 Harbor Park Dr. for its headquarters and operations center. The purchase price is $5.5 million and Jesco will make $1 million in improvements, said Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano.

Jesco is the third New York City business to move to Nassau recently.

The county’s industrial development agency is expected Thursday night to approve exemptions from the sales tax and mortgage recording tax. It also will consider a proposal to freeze property taxes for eight years and then to raise them 3 percent in each of the following seven years.

Jesco, founded in 1998, specializes in track lighting, wall sconces, recessed lighting, outdoor lighting and display lighting. The company will employ 40 people in Port Washington.
