Real estate expansion in Nassau

Prudential Douglas Elliman recently acquired Prudential Galeria, a Long Island brokerage established in 1984 under the leadership of John Berookhim, that serves Williston Park, East Williston, New Hyde Park, Mineola, Albertson and surrounding areas, the company announced this week.

The announcement by Dottie Herman, left, president and chief executive of Prudential Douglas Elliman,  is part of an expansion that includes the recent acquisition of Prudential Holmes & Kennedy, a 40-year old brokerage in Westchester and Putnam counties.

“The Westchester market has a perfect synergy with our markets in New York City and Long Island,” Herman said in the announcement. In the past three months, Prudential Douglas Elliman also opened its first office in the Bronx, with the acquisition of John Edwards Real Estate, a boutique Riverdale agency.
